The Current TETRA Transition
While TETRA has already been implemented in certain areas of Poland, emergency services have historically relied heavily on a VHF bandwidth for several decades. VHF has been favoured due to its extensive rural coverage and long operational range, however it offers limited capacity and TETRA is widely regarded as the long-term solution for nationwide critical communications.
Prior to the ongoing transition, individual emergency service organisations, and regions, operated on separate frequencies. This made inter-service interoperability and cross-border cooperation challenging, while also limiting encryption and network resilience.
TETRA enables all emergency services to communicate within a shared bandwidth, supporting more efficient coordination and faster response times in critical situations. As the TETRA network continues to expand across specific sectors, the ‘Sting’ Antenna is playing a key role in ensuring that Polish emergency vehicles are equipped with high-performance TETRA (& GPS) capability.

The Role of the ‘Sting’
Recently launched by Sure Antennas, the ‘Sting’ offers dual band functionality of TETRA & GPS. The antenna is able to achieve a gain of 4dBi which signifies its high-performance capability, as well as a flexible whip which is often required for high vehicles.
The performance quality of the ‘Sting’ Antenna is a huge factor for why companies such as PROFKOM choose this antenna over its competitors. With the large-scale projects currently taking place in Poland, a long-term solution is required to ensure their vehicles are equipped for years to come.
Our European Expansion
The partnership with PROFKOM represents another important milestone in Sure Antennas’ ongoing European expansion. Over the past year, we have welcomed a growing number of new customers across Europe and look forward to supporting additional forces in the region in the coming year.
The ‘Sting’ Antenna is one of several new products being introduced as part of this expansion, which we hope will continue to grow through more partners & distributors.
Conclusion
We are proud to be playing a part in such a huge project in Poland at the moment, as well as working alongside PROFKOM to bring high performing vehicle antennas to market. We hope to continue supplying specialist solutions to end users in Poland and in Europe, to ensure their teams are equipped with the best possible comms for their operations.
