Collaborating with MTC to Improve Quality & Service

Production is something we take great pride in at Sure Antennas. We’re always looking for ways to improve operations throughout and quality of service provided. During Covid, a lot of our manufacturing practices had been restricted. When we started collaborating with MTC (Manufacturing Technology Centre), we saw this as a great opportunity to redesign the facility and allow fresh ideas. So, the team could concentrate on upskilling and increasing efficiencies.

The team at MTC worked closely with the production team to discuss current processes and what can be done to improve them. From this a full review of the manufacturing space followed.

Workshops with the Production Team

A series of workshops were set up for every member of production staff, it was crucial for them all to be involved in learning about lean manufacturing. The workshops from MTC were tailored to the business and current premises. This was to help everyone understand how important it is to think about how small changes can allow time to be saved in production.

This also gave insight to the financial savings from the amount of stock needing to be held on the factory floor. So, production can be tailored to each order and delivered within an efficient time.

Review of the Manufacturing Facilities

These workshops provided the production line workers with inspiration on how they would best like to operate their areas. They then presented their findings to the management team who implemented this.

The changes made throughout the production floor has aided the speed and efficiency of how we can assemble products and cabling.

This empowered everyone within the team to easily suggest new ideas and make sure they were constantly thinking about improving our processes. Linking this into our daily SQCDP meetings.

It was great working with MTC and the changes have greatly impacted overall operations at Sure Antennas. There are already many approaches and methodologies already in place to regularly monitor quality and keep the team connected. The MTC experience has enhanced this even further.
