We understand that roof space on vehicles, particularly in the VAG Group range, is at a premium. As modern specialist vehicles increasingly require multiple antenna connections and technologies, the need to optimise and reclaim valuable roof space has become more important than ever.
Thanks to our in-depth expertise with OEM antenna systems across a wide range of VAG Group models, we have developed a number of OEM Antenna Repositioning Kits specifically for popular Blue Light vehicles. Please contact us if you’re looking for options for other VAG vehicles or special build variants.
These kits are designed for the latest generation of Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT, and Škoda vehicles. It allows the OEM roof-mounted shark fin antenna to be repositioned discreetly elsewhere on the vehicle. Existing vehicle wiring is retained, while internal window-mount antennas are used to maintain OEM vehicle functions. This frees up the original antenna location to accommodate an optional VAG-specific antenna mount plate, enabling installation of our multifunction ‘Mallard’ or ‘Sandcastle’ antennas. Using automotive FAJRA connectors, the system remains fully OEM-compatible and independent from any installed Critical Communications Systems.
We offer these kits in two configurations:
- Modification Only: You send us the original OEM parts from your vehicle for conversion.
- Supply Only: We provide a new OEM shark fin unit as part of a complete kit, ready for installation.
When used in conjunction with our custom VAG Antenna Mounting Plates and the forward-compatible ‘Mallard’ or ‘Sandcastle’ antennas, this system futureproofs your vehicle for ESN readiness, while retaining full functionality with existing Airwave systems. We also supply coaxial cable kits to integrate our antennas with a wide range of vehicle-mounted modems, telemetry units, CCTV, and other communications devices.
